Community Involvement

CCATCU supports, sponsors and participates in activities to benefit the local community throughout the year. We're committed to helping our communities become stronger and financially healthier. Some of the ways you'll see our involvement:

Scholarship Awards

Every year, CCATCU awards 8 - $1000 scholarships to deserving high school seniors and undergraduates.  We're proud to carry on our commitment of providing financial assistance for continuing education.  Keep visiting our website for information on 2019 scholarship availability.

Howdy Daze

Howdy Daze is a FREE annual event, open to the community hosted by CCATCU and the FOCUS Foundation and held in Spring of each year.  The Credit Union provides free food and entertainment and invites vendors to provide educational and fun activities for the kids.  Previous vendors have included the United States Marines, Texas State Aquarium and Texas A&M Wetlands on Wheels among many others.

Steppin Up & Out for Kids Walk/Run

The annual Walk/Run is one of the many fundraisers the Credit Union supports benefitting the FOCUS Foundation.  It's held in conjunction with our Howdy Daze event in late April.  This event continues to grow in participants each year.

Waffle Breakfast/Kids Got Talent

Our annual Waffle Breakfast fundraiser is held together with our Kids Got Talent contest and benefits the FOCUS Foundation.  Traditionally held in November, children of all ages perform on stage and are judged by local celebrities while you enjoy some delicious all you can eat waffles.  It's a great family affair.

Financial Literacy for Youth

The Credit Union believes in preparing our youth for the real world through education.  That's why we've partnered with both the NEFE (National Endowment for Financial Education) and Junior Achievement Programs.  The goal of both programs is to ready our children for the future.  If you're interested in having a CCATCU Representative present either program at your school or organization, please contact us.

Driscoll Children's Hospital

It's all about the kids!!  CCATCU helps throughout the year by maintaining kiosks at all our branch locations, selling candy and volunteering for different events such as the annual Children's Miracle Network Telethon and Chemo Fish-Off.

FOCUS Foundation

CCATCU and Staff raise money throughout the year with fundraisers in support of the FOCUS Foundation.  The FOCUS Foundation benefits the children within Nueces and the surrounding counties by providing grants to schools and organizations for educational purposes and more.

Charitable Donations

CCATCU employees make contributions through payroll deduction each pay period.  These deductions go towards a local non-profit organization of the employees choice - Women's Shelter of South Texas, Peewee's Pet Adoption or CASA - Court Appointed Special Advocates.
